A Little Bit About Us
The Black Cat Advocate began upon discovering that black cats are still unfairly demonised by outdated superstitions and remnants of historical persecution.
As cat lovers and ourselves staff to three fabulous felines (full disclosure: none of which are black - yet!), we are shocked and saddened by this realisation and don't understand why these beautiful creatures are often subjected to bias, leading to a higher risk of abandonment and worse.
Sadly, on average black cats spend longer periods in shelters, overlooked by potential adopters. This extended stay not only deprives them of loving homes but also places them at greater risk of euthanasia.
By challenging these misconceptions and choosing to see black cats for the loving and loyal companions they truly are, we can help ensure they receive the care, respect, and homes they deserve.
We Play Nicely With Others
We welcome the opportunity to share and collaborate with non-profit groups and organisations, to help spread the word and give these magnificent moggies the best possible life.
